Friday, May 4 at 4 PM – 6 PM
National Cathedral District of Columbia 20016
Details
Join us on Friday afternoon, May 4 as we visit the 79th annual Flower Mart at Washington National Cathedral.
If you would like to tour the Flower Mart for free with our Washington, DC History & Culture organization, we can meet at 4:00 pm and then spend two hours there before it closes at 6:00 pm. This is a chance to meet interesting people and take in the fun-filled atmosphere of the Flower Mart and Washington National Cathedral. Optional dinner afterwards at a TBD location nearby (2 Amy’s Pizza or Cactus Cantina?)
This event is open to the public on Friday, May 4 and Saturday, May 5. However, our group is only visiting the Flower Mart on Friday afternoon because all day Saturday we’ll be participating in the “Around the World Embassies Open House” event (you are welcome to join us for that as well – event listed separately).
Flower Mart – Friday and Saturday, May 4-5, 2018!
Since 1939, on the first Friday and Saturday of May, the All Hallows Guild has welcomed visitors to the grounds of the Washington National Cathedral for Flower Mart. Over the past 78 years, this event has grown and now draws thousands of people – who come to shop for plants and gifts, eat fun festival food, enjoy children’s activities, ride our historic carousel, climb to the top of the Cathedral, and take in the beauty of our International Floral Exhibit. Flower Mart 2016 will mark the beginning of the All Hallows Guild’s Centennial Celebration. The Guild was founded in 1916 to protect and celebrate the beautiful gardens and grounds of the Washington National Cathedral. All Flower Mart proceeds benefit the upkeep of this treasured historic landscape.
